Responsibilities:

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Technical Project Manager formerly known as a Senior Data Operations Manager, you will be an Expert Individual Contributor reporting into our Data Operations Lead. You will be an expert on delivering and scaling complex Data initiatives across large organisations, often working across departmental boundaries and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of the business. You will be accountable for the planning, delivery and overall day-to-day coordination and management of a portfolio of workstreams that underpins our Pan-BBC Data Strategy.

Responsibilities are not solely however on delivery of projects, but also to drive adoption of Agile techniques with Data Product Teams and a continuous improvement mindset across Data teams, coaching teams to be not only self-sufficient but self-optimising.

  • Lead delivery of various projects, PoC’s and initiatives around Generative AI, Intelligent Process Automation (IPA), Blockchain & other ‘Next Gen’ technologies.
  • Leading key business insights for the Data team around future technology trends.
  • Lead various initiatives across the Data Strategy portfolio, managing the end-to-end delivery process from project initiation to successful completion and transition to BAU support within the Data Value chain.
  • Lead on operating model projects and maturity tracking across the team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, promoting transparency, collaboration, and innovation in outcome delivery.
  • Lead change management programs to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of new processes, programs and products.
  • Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and impediments, implementing mitigation strategies to drive successful strategic outcomes.
  • Ensure stakeholder commitments are met, documenting and communicating any changes to expectations.
  • Champion agile best practices, providing coaching and mentorship to teams and individuals, and facilitating the development of agile competencies.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including senior management, product managers, and development teams, to align on project priorities and timelines.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and effective communication among team members, stakeholders, and senior management.
