ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Holds a relevant Engineering Degree (BEng/ BSc minimum).
  • Necessary certification for travel offshore preferred but not essential.
  • Must be willing to travel offshore/ to site.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Applications and relevant discipline specific software.
  • Decommissioning experience is preferred.
  • Ability to investigate and interpret data.

Responsibilities:

  • Take personal responsibility for the delivery of Technical Safety Engineering expertise where directed.
  • Provide Technical Safety Engineering technical support to, and implement instructions from, the Lead Technical Safety Engineer.
  • Provide supervision and support to Technical Safety Engineering personnel as directed by the Lead Technical Safety Engineer.
  • Undertake or manage updates to the operational safety case and its supporting documentation. Including, but not limited to:
  • Safety Case Material Change & Thorough Review.
  • Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA).
  • Fire Risk Analysis (FRA)/ Fire Explosion Blast Risk Analysis (FEBRA).
  • Evacuation Escape and Rescue Analysis (EERA).
  • Temporary Refuge Impairment Analysis (TRIA).
  • Smoke and Gas Ingress Analysis (SGIA).
  • Essential Systems Vulnerability Analysis (ESVA).
  • Dispersion modelling/ analysis, thermal radiation, gas plume analysis.
  • Undertake, or manage, Technical Safety Engineering deliverables including, but not limited to:
  • As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) demonstration.
  • Hazardous Area Classification.
  • Active and Passive Fire Protection development.
  • Assist with resolving technical queries to ensure resolution to the satisfaction of the Asset Manager.
  • Provide support to safety workshops (including HAZOP, SIL/ LOPA & HAZID) including arrangement and participation.
  • Contribute to the development of plans, schedules and estimates for individual work scopes and keep the Lead Technical Safety Engineer appraised of progress against these.
  • Act/ deputize as a Technical Safety Engineering liaison point for clients, asset managers, project teams, and external regulatory bodies.
  • Comply with Company engineering procedures and industry, international and client codes and standards.
