We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Sales to join the APJ team based in Singapore. This is a permanent position with hybrid working environment.
The Senior Technical Sales provides in-depth technical consulting for sales opportunities across a broad portfolio of moderate to highly complex products, channels, segments and regions. By using advanced technical expertise, the Senior Technical Sales strategically collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to evaluate and adopt advanced technical products and solutions to create business value.
With deep experience and advanced working knowledge in advanced technologies, you will be supporting the sales team with generating new business and ensures growth of existing moderate to complex accounts. You will be assessing potential advanced application of products or services and offers solutions that meet customer/client evolving needs to address moderate to highly complex customer/client needs, address unexpected variables with successful independent judgement and expand sales opportunities for established clients.

As a Senior Technical Sales in our team, you will:

  • Attend customer meetings, conduct sales presentations, and deliver product/service demonstrations in person and via phone.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of achieving aggressive selling goals.
  • Provide thorough responses to product/service and industry questions.
  • Prepare moderately complex technical proposals and presentations to support sales teams.
  • Demonstrate proficient solution selling abilities and effective, proactive customer/client communications.
  • Identify and analyze customer/client needs and develop intermediate-range strategies on how to competitively meet those needs.
  • Advise and support customers and sales teams on technical aspects of products and services, adhering to customer’s needs and goals.
  • Utilize technical expertise to develop and execute thorough training, as needed.
  • Identify areas to help streamline and improve sales processes - recommend improvements to management.
  • Act as a customer advocate as necessary for pre-sales and post-sales activities.
  • Provide consistent follow-up on opportunities or inquiries.
  • Evaluate the client’s customer needs and propose potential solutions.
  • Manage external competitive pressures and effectively handle objections to help retain customers.
  • Ability to provide consultative support.
  • May potentially attend vendor and/or external events, as needed.
  • May provide mentoring and guidance to more junior staff, as needed.
  • Work with multiple stakeholders, building effective relationships with decision-makers at all levels.

We’ll be a great match if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in computer science or other technical field, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
  • 5 years of experience serving in a similar role in an advanced technical environment or equivalent experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Prior experience with advanced technologies, such as hybrid cloud, PaaS, and IaaS technologies, etc.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills - proactive communication style ensuring timely status of projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to extract hidden or unrealized requirements and gain consensus on these requirements with the customer.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus ambiguous customer needs into specific, deliverable requirements.
  • Able to develop relationships and communicate with higher-level technical staff, with proven success.
  • Demonstrated advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Passion for exceptional customer experience and sales.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to learn and optimize new technology and data, with proven success.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Workspace programs
  • Demonstrated successful ability to prioritize and multi-task in a time-sensitive environment, leveraging high level of independent judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to make timely and sound decisions; make decisions under conditions of uncertainty or limited data; evaluate short- and long-term consequences.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks effectively.
