Responsibilities:
THE ROLE/TE MAHI
This position will see you as part of our Desktop Support Team on the Christchurch campus, providing effective, reliable operational IT support, advice and recommendations in a way that is easy for staff and students to understand.
You will perform hardware and software maintenance, provide technical support and timely diagnosis and resolution of software and hardware incidents and act as a point of escalation for Desktop Support enquiries. Our team provides these services with a “go the extra mile” attitude.
Key tasks include:
- Resolving desktop support requests from staff and students
- Troubleshooting support requests and escalating any that are unable to be resolved at that time
- Working with your customer group to ensure that all new purchasing of hardware and software is suitable and fits their needs
- Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions and prevention in accordance with procedures
- Proactively build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with the clients, AskOtago and IT colleagues.
We are looking for someone with expertise in Desktop Support related roles with a high level of knowledge and experience with desktop operating systems and application software used at the University.
