WHO WE ARE SUPPORTING

The NATO Communication and Information Agency (NCIA) is responsible for providing secure and effective communications and information technology (IT) services to NATO’s member countries and its partners. The agency was established in 2012 and is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.

The NCIA provides a wide range of services, including:

  • Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO’s communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.
  • Command and Control Systems: The NCIA develops and maintains the systems used by NATO’s military commanders to plan and execute operations.
  • Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
  • Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO’s mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.
  • Information Management: The NCIA manages NATO’s information technology infrastructure, including its databases, applications, and servers.

Overall, the NCIA plays a critical role in ensuring the security and effectiveness of NATO’s communication and information technology capabilities.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), power generating systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Conversant with European Electrical Safety Standards (e.g. NEN 3140);
  • Knowledge of European regulations for electrical systems (e.g. NEN 1010);

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Valid Driving License;
  • Knowledge of Power Generation Systems, Electrical Engineering and Uninterruptable Power Supplies;
  • Demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving;
  • Basic knowledge of Electronics, Air conditioners and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC);
  • Safety certificate (VCA/SCC or equivalent) or Health and Safety (H&S) certificate;
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT.

EDUCATION

  • Higher vocational training in Diesel Power Generation or relevant discipline with 3 years of post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 5 years post-related experience;

Responsibilities:

Under the direction of the Support Equipment Section Head, the incumbent of this role will perform duties as follows:

  • Assist in the planning, preparation, coordination, execution and reporting of Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Inspections (PMI/CMI) of the Power Generators (PGs), other electrical equipment (e.g. UPS’s, power distribution units, cabling, etc.) and performing Electrical Safety Inspections of the Deployable CIS assets.
  • Assist in preparation of future upgrades of the PGs or other electrical elements, providing feedback and drafting Technical Notes.
  • Provide on-site or remote support and guidance to the users referring to the Power Generation and Electrical issues reported to NCIA FSP (including but not limiting to ITSM tickets).
  • Where needed, coordinate with other NCI Agency internal stakeholders technical aspects of the performed work (e.g. CSSC CISSES).
  • Establish and maintain the internal database of the validity of ESI for the DCIS assets within the Area of Responsibility (AoR). If required, respond and coordinate with Customer the performance of the ESI.
  • Providing On Job Training to the users for the PG and other electrical equipment.
  • Performs all the duties respective to KPIs set by the DCIS service level agreement.
  • Perform other duties as required
