ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.

Reporting to the Assurance Manager, the Senior Test Analyst role will be part of the Quality Assurance team, responsible for System Integration Testing. This role works closely with the Child Link and Early Childhood Education Digital Services team and IT technical specialists both within the Department and external vendors. Additionally, subject matter experts from varied services will be key stakeholders for which this role will need to develop effective relationships.
The Kindergarten Attendance solution comprises multiple components that require individual testing and end-to-end testing. The Senior Test Analyst will need to work closely with technical and business Subject Matter Experts to gain a detailed understanding of the business requirements, solution design and architecture and data models, including all attributes, reference data and associated metadata.
They will be expected to use a high level of knowledge and experience in blending traditional project principles and practices with a tailored Agile development approach to fit large, complex, business-critical projects with the appropriate level of planning and provide the right balance of agility and predictability

As the Senior Test Analyst, you will be required to:

• Build Integration and Functional test cases from business and technical requirements along with design & interface documents
• Development of automated/manual test cases for System Integration Testing
• Ability to identify data requirements (data mining and/or building test data)
• Execution of test cases and reporting of progress
• Defect capturing, prioritising, following up resolution and retesting defects
• Preparation of testing artefacts, including test plans and test summary reports.
• Engagement and collaboration with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
