Job Description
At Vanderlande, we design, develop and install baggage handling systems for (large) airports. An important part of these systems is IT software that is used for planning, automated transport, monitoring and control.
Our customers are expecting regular updates and new features. To support this, we have started to make our software easier to deploy and configure and more open to extensions. This requires refactoring, migrating to a new technology stack, and in some cases rebuilding. At the same time, we still need to accommodate new features.
What are we looking for:
We are looking for a Senior or Specialist Test Automation Engineer in the department of Platform System Integration and QA.
What should you bring along for this role:

As a senior or specialist in Test Automation Engineering (integration) in our team, you are involved in ensuring the seamless integration of various software components. Here are some key tasks associated with this role:

  • Create (design, develop and improve) automated test scripts that validate the integration points between different modules or systems.
  • Knowledge testing frameworks and tools (such as Java, Playwright etc.) to build robust and maintainable test suites.
  • Write clean, efficient, and reusable code to ensure long-term maintainability.
  • Adhere to best practices for test automation, including naming conventions, code organization, and handling test data. Knows Continuous improvement is key to
  • Proactive in identifying, analyzing, and investigating defects or anomalies, and in reaching out to teams to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with developers and QA analysts to identify root causes, propose solutions, to address integration issues and improve overall system quality.
  • Work closely with PO, architects, SM and other stakeholders to understand requirements, deadlines and needs of Integration initiatives and team.
  • Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and methodologies related to test automation.

Key qualifications and requirements

  • ISTQB is an advantage.
  • Domain knowledge in logistics, warehousing is a pre/advantage.
  • Has experience in Agile SAFE environment.
  • Knowledgeable on testing tools with experience in the following:
  • Working knowledge of developing/deployment of test systems/frameworks within cloud systems (Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • API Testing – Postman, SoapUI (required work experience in at least one option)
  • UI Automation Testing: Playwright, Cypress (required work experience in at least one option)
  • BDD Framework: Cucumber (Java, JavaScript), Gherkin
  • Performance Testing: Gatling (is an advantage)
  • Experience in working with GIT (Bitbucket), Jira, QC, docker, CICD (flux or similar), Kafka, etc.
