JOB DESCRIPTION

We’re looking for a skilled Test Automation Engineer, ideally with experience in media industry, to join our client on their Business Systems & Applications (BS&A); a multidisciplinary team dedicated to developing and supporting critical systems that drive the commissioning, scheduling, and management of TV and audio program metadata. As part of their mission, we’re currently migrating and building a state-of-the-art pitching and commissioning system, used by both internal and external teams, to elevate how new content is proposed and manage. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality and seamless operation of these systems, supporting a platform that fuels the core content creation.
In this role, you will lead the design, development, and management of automated tests, covering both front and back-end functionalities. Your technical expertise will play a critical role in supporting our continuous integration processes, working with tools like Jenkins and GitHub to create a robust, reliable testing environment. You’ll be able to perform automation testing activities independently and bring a proactive approach to enhance our testing frameworks. Prior experience with Cypress and SQL databases will be essential, as well as UI and API testing skills, ensuring our systems not only meet industry standards but also deliver an exceptional client experience.We’re looking for a professional who has a strong learning mindset, and a natural curiosity to dive into new business domains. Ideal candidates will bring experience working in Agile environments, familiarity with AWS, and knowledge of testing frameworks like Serenity. ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

You will:

• have a proven ability to learn a new business domain quickly and provide an excellent client experience
• have previous, demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining automated tests, ideally in Cypress
• be able to create, edit and manage the execution of automated tests covering both front and back-end
• have experience working in Continuous Integration environment using tools such as Jenkins.
• have experience with version control systems such as GitHub
• be able to perform automation testing activities independently
• have previous testing experience of UIs and APIs
• have good SQL, Agile and AWS knowledge
• possess a learning mindset/proactive

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

• JavaScript knowledge
• experience of working with test automation tools and frameworks such Serenity etc.
• Source Lab knowledge
• Familiarity with cloud computing AWS.
• Enquiring mind, great team player.
• A dedicated, committed and high skilled tester who can work independently

EXPERIENCE

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field or similar work based experience.
• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer ideally with a focus on media-related projects.
• Very good working knowledge of standard software development frameworks, techniques and methodologies.
• Experience with providing coaching and mentoring
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, contributing to the development of business scenarios.
• Knowledge of software development tools and technologies.
• You are flexible and curious in your approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
