THE OPPORTUNITY:

At Leonardo UK, we have a fantastic new opportunity for a Senior Test Equipment Engineer to join our team within the Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business.
In this role, you will be working as part of the ECRS Mk2 Radar Integrated Project Team (IPT) within a design team responsible for the development and delivery of complex test solutions to enable performance of design verification, qualification and production acceptance testing on all build levels of the deliverable radar product.
We are looking for someone who thrives when working in the problem space, is good at drawing out and understanding stakeholder needs, as well as looking at different concepts for creating optimal value solutions for both the customer and the business.
The role of a Test Equipment Engineer is varied. Covering the full product lifecycle from stakeholder requirement definition through to customer handover, no two days are the same offering a stimulating and rewarding experience, along with an exciting career path.
In this role, you will work closely with both the internal Leonardo teams and with external stakeholders, in particular equipment suppliers and sub-contract design and manufacturing companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the creation and delivery of the technical solution within a defined work package area, ensuring that it meets all stakeholder requirements
  • Support Establish and mature stakeholder needs, associating/attributing priority, interest, influence and trading-off needs to determine optimum capability to solve stakeholders’ problems
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architecture alignment with other elements of the programme.
  • Provide input into the resolution of emerging issues by proposing solutions, and supporting definition of opportunities and risk mitigation options
  • Foster relationships and networks within and outside the line of business, actively seeking out opportunities and promoting a culture for adoption of best practice
  • Develop, coach, mentor, teach, and upskill graduates and apprentices.
