Description:
OVERVIEW
The Test Development Division is forming a dedicated Test Hardware Team with the aim of taking a consistent approach to all our test hardware design projects. The engineering manager leading this team will be responsible for our probe cards, test PCBs, and test fixture design. They will take a lead role in developing our hardware design process from requirements, through to specification, and final delivery. Putting safety first, they will need to balance cost, lead time, and capability to ensure we deliver the best possible hardware solution for the company. A key element shall be understanding when to develop internally and when to outsource.
QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING
- Degree/ MSC / PHD (or equivalent) in Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering, or related field
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Strong ability to lead a team.
- Experienced user of one or more of: Python, C, C++
- Confident user of CAD tools for mechanical and electronic design such as: Altium, Eagle, Autodesk, Fusion360, LT SPICE
- Demonstrable knowledge of the safety requirements around mechatronic systems.
- Comfortable with using Git or related tools for version control.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneously.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience with probe stations, probe cards, and other tools for semiconductor test.
- Knowledge of reel to reel handling equipment such as that used in RFID inlay manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of hardware and mechatronic engineers.
- Work with teams across Technology and Operations to understand their hardware needs and work to address them.
- Engage with external suppliers to identify suitable existing systems for testing Pragmatic’s FlexICs.
- Where no off the shelf solution exists, design, manufacture, and validate systems for the testing of FlexICs.
- Develop and manage a roadmap for test hardware development.
- Fully document projects through their development: Requirements, Specifications, Verification, Validation, Operation, Safety
- Work with the measurement and ATE software teams to develop probe cards for wafer test of a variety of FlexICs.
