AS A SENIOR THERAPY ASSISTANT WE CAN OFFER YOU:

Competency based training
A wide range of experience working within the Acute hospital sites, and into the community through our collaborative partnerships and Discharge to Assess pathways.

We have potential opportunities within in the following specialist areas:
Orthopaedics
Respiratory
Macmillan
Front of House (Medical admissions and Emergency Department)
Musculoskeletal Outpatients
Please specify in your supporting information which specialist area you would have a preference for.
A full driving licence is required. All therapy staff are expected to contribute to weekend working rotas within the department.
To be an autonomous practitioner
To determine clinical diagnosis and develop effective treatment plans with the support of relevant senior staff
Once considered competent, to participate in the on-call, week-end, bank holiday and extended working rotas where clinically appropriate
Be responsible for maintaining own competency to practice through CPD activities and maintain a portfolio which reflects personal development and professional standards.
Participate in the staff appraisal scheme as an appraisee and be responsible for complying with agreed personal development plan to meet set competencies.
Be an active member of the In-Service Training Programme by attendance at, and participation in, in-service training programmes, tutorials, individual training sessions, external courses and peer review.
Be responsible for full caseload of patients under direct and indirect supervision of a therapist
Undertaking a range of basic assessments (in line with band 4 competencies and national recommendations)- this may include assessments patients home environment
Training and support of band 3 assistant staff and supporting rotational band 5’s
Band 3/4 experience in healthcare essential
Basic IT and administrative skills required
Relevant courses at Foundation Degree level or equivalent are expected to be completed (can be completed whilst in role)
