Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Tooling Engineer oversees activities of tool design to facilitate production or procurement of tooling. Determines the most effective manufacturing process while sustaining the most efficient cost. Prepares the initial specification of tooling for specific programs and/or products.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years manufacturing experience in the automotive industry. Familiar with metal fabricating, assembly processes and related tooling
  • Minimum of five (5) years post Graduation/apprenticeship experience in a press shop for metal forming.
  • University education (Mechanical Engineering) or Community College graduate technical and/or a certified apprenticeship in tool & die
  • Knowledge of progressive dies, transfer dies, blank forming, tube forming, roll forming.
  • Capability and knowledge of design in tooling.
  • Knowledge of laser/MIG tooling
  • Advanced GD&T knowledge
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
  • Team-oriented approach to problem solving.
  • Demonstrated planning and system implementation ability.
  • Proficiency in related computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, VISI, solid works, Auto CAD).
