The Ministry of Trade and Export Development has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a diplomatic, creative and detail-oriented individual with excellent interpersonal skills to fill a term position of Senior Trade Policy Analyst.
Responsibilities:
As part of the Trade Policy Unit, you will be responsible for:
- Representing Saskatchewan on Federal-Provincial-Territorial committees and working collaboratively with other jurisdictions to advance Saskatchewan’s trade priorities.
- Facilitating collaboration with other ministries and agencies, conducting research, and providing analysis and advice on Saskatchewan’s interests related to trade agreement negotiation and implementation, and other policy matters that impact trade.
- Opening markets for Saskatchewan exporters through dispute resolution procedures in international and internal trade agreements.
- Advising and collaborating with other ministries and agencies to advance their objectives consistent with Saskatchewan’s trade obligations
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Communication skills to explain verbally and in writing complex policy issues clearly and credibly to a variety of audiences.
- Interpersonal and negotiation skills to advance government objectives in interprovincial, federal-provincial-territorial and international forums.
- Research and strategic thinking skills to analyze issues, identify options, solutions and implications for Saskatchewan and make recommendations.
- Knowledge of the Saskatchewan economy, its industrial and resource base, and its trade and investment capabilities and requirements
