SENIOR UNDERWRITING SPECIALIST- STRUCTURED CREDIT
On behalf of a leading reinsurance company in Zurich, we are looking for a motivated Senior Underwriting specialist to join a dynamic team and a growing international company. Reporting directly to the SVP, Head of Credit – Europe, this role is responsible for the sourcing, underwriting and portfolio management activities within our structured credit pillar.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of a profitable book of business - handle day-to-day transaction underwriting, risk analysis, negotiations, client relationships, reporting on portfolio to internal/external stakeholders, and accounting.
- Build and maintain meaningful relationships with clients (whether existing or new).
- Inform on credit market trends and broader macro-economic environment.
- Maintain a high level of expertise and product knowledge to serve as a resource for clients and staff.
- Represent the company at various internal and external client/industry events, which may include external speaking roles on panels.
- Identify, design, and drive marketing synergies, by developing creative solutions to client problems.
- Maximize use of risk and underwriting tools and analytics; enhance the risk management culture within the team; suggest improvements or lead development of reporting tools.
- Investigate, evaluate, and make recommendations for improvements to current and new risk models, changes to proprietary models and implement new models to enable improved analyses, reporting, manipulation of data and workflow. Interpret and challenge model results.
- Proactively research and explore new business opportunities.
- Actively identify, mentor, train and develop junior talent.
- Maintain ongoing, self-directed professional development.
- Prioritize expense management.
