University Canada West (UCW) invites applications position of Senior University Research Chair.
UCW is seeking an accomplished world-class scholar with PHD, a distinguished record of research achievements and a demonstrated commitment to excellence in academia. This designation is designed to further foster outstanding researchers, providing them with the incumbent, an environment to continue leading in their field. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in research activities, teaching, and service, contributing to the academic community at UCW and their own personal professional development.

QUALIFICATION

  • You have graduated with a PhD in a related field, displaying an extraordinary record of scholarly achievements, including a strong publication record and evidence of successful research funding.
  • Exceptional research background as a lead figure in their area of study with evidence of significant publications.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students, with the ability to engage and inspire others.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and champion high-quality research in the candidate’s area of expertise, with a focus on producing innovative contributions that enhances UCW’s reputation for research excellence.
  • Provide exemplary guidance and mentorship to graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior research chairs.
  • Advance the academic community through publications, and participation in scholarly activities such as publishing impactful peer-reviewed articles and presenting key notes at major conferences globally.
  • Lead and secure substantial funding and successful grant bids to drive ground-breaking research initiatives.
  • Participate in service and administrative duties within the university and broader academic community, which may include serving on committees, mentoring students, and contributing to outreach initiatives including traveling internationally.
  • Lead recruitment initiatives, ensuring the development of a dynamic and high-caliber academic community.
