Ciena’s Navigator Network Control Suite delivers an extensive suite of applications that offer AI-assisted, closed-loop automation to operate and optimize our customers’ multi-layer IP and optical networks.
We are looking for a UX Designer with 4+ years of professional experience to join our UX team. Do you have a track record of creating exceptional user experiences that make enterprise users successful? Are you excited to learn about and design for a complex domain? Are you an experienced practitioner of user research techniques and furthermore, are you passionate about using these to ensure you’re on track to drive user-centered experiences? THE MUST-HAVES:

  • 4+ years professional experience working in the field of User Experience Design
  • Degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a UX Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design process and the impact of your work on customer-facing enterprise products
  • Proven track record of using user research, analytics, and user validation techniques to drive design decisions
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design, planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and designing for accessibility
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present and articulate design concepts to stakeholders
  • Proven experience in UX design for enterprise applications (e.g. telecom, utilities, manufacturing, or health care)
  • Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, Axure, or similar
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and coding principles is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • partner with Product managers, Solution architects, Developers, Subject Matter Experts and System engineers to understand and specify detailed requirements, design end user workflows, and produce detailed UX specifications that will delight users
  • leverage your experience with research, analytics, and user validation techniques to help the team gather insights and validate design decisions
  • create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and visual designs that effectively communicate your design concepts, based on user research insights
  • work closely with developers to ensure the feasibility and successful implementation of your designs
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and ensure that the user remains at the center of all design decisions
  • be comfortable working in a cross-functional team – not everyone will “speak” UX design – you’ll need to be an effective communicator with a variety of stakeholders
  • promote UX consistency across different interfaces in our portfoli
