We’re looking for a detail-oriented and deeply collaborative Senior UX Designer capable of researching, developing, validating and executing experience strategies across teams, initiatives and channels to ultimately deliver a world-class print-on-demand fabric and wallpaper online shopping experience.
The ideal candidate is willing to be a hands-on generalist and have demonstrated proficiency in UX design for e-commerce, plus experience in user research methodologies. The candidate will play a key role in designing digital e-commerce and partner experiences for Spoonflower.com and other internal systems. The role will also include experience strategy and research as needed. This role will report to the Director of UX Design for Spoonflower.com and collaborate heavily with the other UX designers, product managers, engineers, business stakeholders and our end users in an agile process, to deliver high-quality UX thinking, research and design work that meets user needs while balancing business and technology goals.
What You’ll Do Here:
- Directly inform end user experience from both an e-commerce and partner perspective
- Identify and enable UX strategies to not only improve specific digital products and services but also the full end-to-end user experience
- Play a leadership role across projects to make critical design decisions, provide guidance to other UX designers, and collaborate with stakeholders to align design efforts with overall business goals
- Apply UX best practices and user research methods to inform designs across e-commerce and partner experiences
- Engage internal business partners in identifying opportunities, ideating solutions to solve for customer problems, prototyping and defining appropriate designs as part of a test and learn approach
- Review/QA work prior to deployment to ensure original designs were implemented correctly, that it still meets the required objectives and meets the design standards
- Lead and mentor other more junior members of the UX team as well as educate the broader organization in UX principles and strategies
The Skills You’ll Bring:
- Has a both deep and broad understanding of UX research and design principles and strategies, with expertise in one or more areas
- 5+ years of related work experience, such as UX design, UX research, or UI design
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred emphasis on Human Centered Design, Human Computer Interaction), or equivalent experience
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others
- Able to work East Cost core hours (9-3 Eastern)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience with user research, personas, journey/empathy maps, design thinking, interaction design, information architecture and visual design.
- Strong understanding of agile and research integration (user stories, requirements gathering, and testing).
- Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to problem-solve and work independently.

The compensation package for this role is based on multiple factors, such as job level, responsibilities, location, and candidate experience. The base pay ranges included below are specific to the locations listed, and may not be applicable to other locations.
California : [$112,750-159,000]
Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island: [$112,750-146,000]
Colorado and Washington: [$112,750-135,250]
Nevada: [$106,000-146,000]
