The Role
Our understanding of the audiences who consume our products, the contributors who shape them, and the landscape in which we operate is fundamental to the success of the design of our products.
We are looking for a Senior UX Researcher to work with our global team, working across our portfolio of brands including Vogue, The New Yorker, Vanity Fair, and Wired. This role is based in Condé Nast’s London Headquarters.
Reporting to the Director of UX Research, you will design and implement research initiatives that incorporate first-hand customer insights to inform product direction and design to strategically grow the business.
In this role, you’ll be an integral part of a growing UX Research team, influencing the approach and utilisation of research practices across the organisation. Grounded in a deep understanding of our consumer’ needs, your focus will be on both qualitative and quantitative data to ensure we’re meeting emotional, functional, and feature-based benefits for our customers.
The Team
We are a team of experience designers with expertise in visual design, UX, interaction design, content design, and research. We partner closely with editorial, product management, engineering, and business partners to strategize, design, and launch effective and beautiful digital products. We believe that a well-formed design culture is essential to delivering excellent products.
What will you do?

This role is for a dedicated Senior Researcher who knows when to apply the appropriate research methods and is creative, agile, adaptable, and practical. In this role, you’re in the driver’s seat: we want you to plan and conduct research end-to-end. We want you to run kick-off meetings, write research briefs, select research methods, recruit, conduct research, analyse, and share insights. Here’s some of what’s in store for you:

  • You’ll be the voice of the customer validating user needs, requirements and behaviours to ensure Condé Nast continues to put people at the heart of everything
  • You will get to champion user research and proactively seek opportunities to share insights with the team, wider company and beyond
  • Your research will help us define, prioritise and evolve our offering to create the single best place to experience our brands providing insight and direction to giving users even more reason to return and engage with our brands.
  • You’ll manage user experience research and usability testing during all phases of design and development applying quantitative and qualitative research methodologies—favouring an agile approach— to help inform UX and design direction and solve issues
  • You’ll collaborate closely with other customer insights colleagues and other teams (digital analytics, audience development, syndicated research, etc.) to enhance our storytelling and bring us even closer to our customers with joined up insight and full 360 customer feedback.
  • You’ll analyse and synthesise learning and develop actionable recommendations
  • And you’ll create clear and impactful deliverables using a variety of appropriate formats to share your learning with stakeholders

Who you are?

  • Extensive years of experience as a UX Researcher, demonstrating a track record of planning and conducting impactful UX research.
  • Enhanced knowledge of user research, product design, and development bestpractices, with a strong understanding of UX principles.
  • Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, including usability testing, interviews, surveys, ethnographic studies, and data analysis.
  • Ability to integrate information from various sources to derive actionable insights.
  • You’re a skilled listener with excellent communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to effectively convey research findings and recommendations to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in research tools and software, such as user testing platforms, survey tools, and data analysis software - Experience with Google Analytics, Omniture, or other data analytics tools is a plus.
  • Proactive, Collaborative , inquisitive, detail-oriented, and highly organised
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing media and technology environment.
