You’re part of the Chief Customer Office. Or CCO as we like to call it. We’re a customer-obsessed bunch, committed to helping all Australians own their own home. Together, we manage the entire customer experience. From attracting new customers through our strong brand and clever propositions, to retaining them and making them brand advocates through our award-winning service and support.
We have the opportunity for a Senior Digital UX/UI designer to join the team at Great Southern Bank, as part of our Small Business product.
This is a full-time opportunity and will be based in our Brisbane Head Office in the CBD.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years’ experience in delivering digital experiences that create material value for customers and organisation
- Extensive experience with user-centred design principles and practices, web/mobile standards, typography, colour, web/mobile usability standards and IA.
- Experience with developing, facilitating and reporting on UX research that builds measurable value to the business.
- Extensive knowledge in creating wireframes, user workflows, and low and high-fidelity prototypes and validating design ideas with usability testing.
- A strong portfolio of UI design that showcases your creativity and understanding of design principles and best practices.
- Experience working with, and contributing to, UI Design Systems.
- Experience in writing technical requirements and working closely with development teams.
- Experience designing online and mobile experiences in the banking sector will be extremely advantageous.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Arts or Design in a relevant field (e.g. interactive design, new media, usability, etc), or equivalent experience.
- Software essentials: Figma, Sketch, JIRA, Confluence, Adobe Creative Suite, User Testing & Research tools (e.g. Maze, User Testing, Optimal, Dovetail etc)

Responsibilities:
Design and Creation
You lead the development of detailed experience designs from inception through to build and launch. Translating high level business requirements into tangible user interface proposals, you integrate the latest standards in interaction design to create exceptional experiences. You create UX deliverables and conduct heuristic reviews of existing interfaces, proactively developing recommendations for the ongoing optimisation of Great Southern Bank’s digital channels, products and services. You design and develop for multiple devices using responsive design principles, usability and customer centric design and accessibility.
User Research & Testing
You have an extensive toolbox of user research and testing methodologies at your disposal, including both quantitative and qualitative research. You craft effective research and testing strategies that deliver reliable and impactful insights. You are experienced in translating insights into actionable next steps and delivered value.
User Interface Design
You have a strong eye for design and a knack for creating beautiful, brand-led interfaces. You leverage our design system to create consistent, efficient interfaces, and you contribute new components and elements where they add value. You have a keen eye for detail, working with development to ensure that delivered experiences align with our design vision and quality. You ensure that you account for accessibility requirements with every design.
Relationship Management
You promote a customer centric culture within the team and always have the customer front of mind in your work. You build relationships across the business and engage with stakeholders to understand, align and deliver a usable and engaging customer service experience through Great Southern Bank’s digital channels, products and services.
Performance, Reporting and Improvements
You compile and analyse online reporting using Google and Adobe Analytics and other relevant sources to evaluate the effectiveness of UX developments. You proactively identify, recommend and/or action continual process and procedure improvements in UX research and analysis, always seeking to improve the customer experience. You support a culture of performance within the team.
