Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a pioneering new team within Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services. The vaccination team’s goal is to improve health and well-being by increasing vaccination rates and coverage, thereby protecting people from preventable diseases. The post holder will work across Northumberland and North Tyneside, covering a 7 day working week.
We are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and innovative individual to help deliver and develop the service alongside team leads.

A car driver is essential.
The base for this post will be North Tyneside General Hospital.
The primary immunisation programme represents a key public health measure which contributes to the reduction of health inequalities and to the achievement of national and local health objectives.
The post holder will work as part of the vaccination team and will be responsible for ensuring that the uptake rate and safe delivery of a large scale vaccination programme within hospital and community settings is adhered to.
They will assess, plan and implement and contribute towards the public health agenda by improving health outcomes staff and patients.
To assist the Lead Immunisation Nurse coordination of hospital hubs and roving vaccination teams.
To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working and collaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. Provide day to day leadership for our team of vaccination nurses and liaise with service providers and users, under the guidance of the Lead nurse.
Involvement in the development and service delivery, developing protocols and audits.
Work in an interdisciplinary manner, to provide high quality care.
Provide training and education to colleagues, staff and patients, whilst understanding potential barriers for vaccinations.
Manage and evaluate vaccination sessions within hospital and community venues.
They will ensure the smooth running and administration of all nurse-led vaccination sessions, and optimise the uptake of vaccinations via promotion of public health strategies and close liaison with business unit representatives, ward / department managers and staff
