Description:
- Overall supervision of Credit, Liquidity, Market and Operational (Operational, Business Continuity, Third party and New Product)
- Review and develop Branch’s Risk Management policy, update operation manual to ensure compliance with laws and regulations including MAS and H.O. policy.
- Supervise the smooth running of both credit risk management and loans related credit administration functions of the Branch.
- Provide independent comments on new credit application submitted by Corporate Banking, Trade Finance and Treasury Departments, Private Banking and FI Departments to the Credit Committee / Credit Approval Sub-Committee / Head Office for approval.
- Ensure all approval, limits, documentation and collaterals are complete and in good order before a loan drawdown or security purchase is made.
- Act as liaising person with Head Office to clarify queries on policies / procedures as and when required, as well as with the Originating Branches for Loan Booking related matters.
- Assist to handle enquiries & inspections from Head Office departments, internal/external/ Head office auditors & / or local regulator.
- Provide recommendations (where appropriate) on the classification of loans and / or securities given by Corporate Banking, Trade Finance and Treasury Departments in their existing portfolios and comment on adequacy of current provisions if required to protect the quality of assets.
- Monitoring of daily risk control reports & limits ensuring that there is no unaccounted breach or excesses.
- Review regular and ad-hoc reports concerning risk management to Management / Head Office / MAS as required.
- Member of Management Committee, Compliance & Internal Control Committee, ALCO, Credit Committee, Credit Approval Sub-Committee, and Investment Banking Committee.
- Perform any duties as may be assigned by the Management.
- Prepare and provide regular and ad-hoc reports concerning risk management to Head Office and Management as required.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting/ Business/ Finance or higher qualification
- At least 5 years of relevant experience heading the Risk Management department in medium sized bank
- Demonstrated leadership and strong people engagement skill
