Wholesale Banks - Wholesale banks play a vital role in the global financial system, and addressing conduct risks within this sector is key to reducing harm and enhancing innovation.
Globally, wholesale banks provide access to financing for firms and governments and investment opportunities for retail and institutional investors. Their effectiveness relies on them being fair, appropriately transparent and efficient.
Wholesale Banking Supervision focuses on the regulation of markets and the regulation of the individual firms that make up those markets. In a constantly evolving external environment, supervision of wholesale banks is critical to ensure the effective operation of the UK’s financial markets and to achieve the FCA’s objectives.
What you will be doing
- Designing multi-firm regulatory projects which assess bank conduct and supervising on their implementation- working alongside the manager, supervisors and technical specialists in the team
- Identifying potential conduct risks in wholesale banks’ business models and activities, utilising FCA data and information from external sources
- Working collaboratively within a focussed supervisory team and wider department, including leading relevant projects and workstreams
- Representing the FCA and engaging with senior management at firms and other regulators
- Providing timely briefings to FCA senior management and other internal stakeholders, including press office and colleagues across policy, supervision and specialist departments, both verbally and in writing
- Collaborating inclusively, contributing to an environment where everyone is listened to and respected and engaging with the FCA Diversity and Inclusion agenda

Minimum
- Experience working in either a wholesale financial service environment such as firms, legal and consultancy or other regulatory and governmental organisations
- Experience of engaging effectively with senior management and other key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
