JOB DESCRIPTION

  • You analyze wind data from met masts, SoDAR, and LiDAR, focusing on wind speed, direction, and turbulence.
  • You work closely with the procurement team to ensure smooth execution of wind measurement campaigns.
  • You utilize WindPRO (or similar software) to model wind farm layouts and estimate energy production, considering turbine specifications and environmental factors.
  • You use GIS and data analysis tools for visualization.
  • You model wake effects using CFD or similar techniques to optimize turbine placement and maximize energy yield.
  • You apply optimization algorithms to enhance turbine layout and configuration, focusing on LCOE/AEP optimization.
  • You evaluate topography, land use, and geographic features to identify optimal turbine locations.
  • You prepare detailed feasibility reports on site development, including meteorological assessments and shadowing effects.
  • You write reports for internal reviews and decision-making, and conduct site inspections as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Atmospheric Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • You bring at least 5 years of relevant experience as a Wind Energy Yield Assessment (EYA) specialist, with proficiency in WindPRO or similar software.
  • You have experience in post-construction energy yield assessments (a plus).
  • You possess a strong understanding of wind flow principles and are skilled in statistical data analysis.
  • You are familiar with wind energy industry software and measurement techniques.
  • You have thorough knowledge of various GIS tools and methods.
  • You are proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and energy analysis software solutions.
  • You are business fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
  • You demonstrate strong negotiating skills, are self-organized, and thrive in a team environment.
