Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Server/Bartender at Northern Meadows, you will provide excellent customer service to golfers, club members, and guests in the restaurant and bar areas of the clubhouse. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, preparing drinks, and ensuring a memorable dining experience. You must be personable, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu, as well as able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 19 years or older.
- Previous experience as a server, bartender, or in a customer service role (preferred).
- Ability to mix drinks, pour wine, and serve beverages according to standard recipes and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of cocktail recipes, beer, wine, and spirits, not required but would be an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive, friendly attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math skills to handle cash, give change, and process payments accurately.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain Serve it Right Saskatchewan.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move quickly for extended periods of time during shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. (e.g., trays, boxes of supplies).
- Ability to bend, twist, and reach to clean tables or shelves, or retrieve supplies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on customer service.

Responsibilities:
- Guest Service:
- Greet guests in a friendly, welcoming manner and provide prompt, courteous service.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate them to kitchen staff and bartenders.
- Serve food and drinks to guests, ensuring that all items are presented properly and to the guests’ satisfaction.
- Address any guest concerns or special requests, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Provide recommendations and answer questions about menu items, daily specials, or drink options.
- Bartending Duties:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic beverages and non-alcoholic drinks to customers, following standard recipes and portion controls.
- Maintain a clean and well-stocked bar area, including organizing liquor, beer, and wine inventory.
- Ensure that drinks are served in accordance with state and local alcohol regulations, including checking IDs for legal drinking age.
- Mix and garnish cocktails, pour wine, draft beer, and prepare other beverages for guests in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain an inventory of bar supplies, and notify management of any low stock or reorder needs.
- Run the beverage cart as scheduled.
- Food Service:
- Ensure that food orders are delivered to guests accurately, in a timely manner, and with attention to presentation.
- Check in with guests during their meal to ensure they are satisfied and offer additional items or beverages as needed.
- Clear empty dishes and glassware from tables and keep the dining area tidy.
- Assist with resetting tables for the next group of guests, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment.
- Cash Handling and POS System:
- Accurately process payments, including cash, credit/debit card transactions, and member accounts, using the POS (Point of Sale) system.
- Provide guests with accurate bills and handle any discrepancies in a professional manner.
- Health and Safety:
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper food handling, storage, and cleanliness of the dining and bar areas.
- Ensure that the bar and dining areas are free of hazards and that all glassware, utensils, and equipment are sanitized.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management promptly.
- Teamwork and Communication:
- Work closely with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service.
- Communicate guest needs and requests to the appropriate team members to facilitate fast and efficient service.
- Assist in other restaurant or bar tasks, such as restocking supplies, cleaning, and setting up for events.
- Event and Tournament Support:
- Assist with special events, tournaments, and group bookings by preparing drinks, setting up tables, and ensuring a high level of service for large groups.
- Help with organizing and serving food and drinks for golf outings, parties, or corporate events hosted at the course.
