Description:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years of related experience
  • High School Diploma
  • Certification of mandatory training in public health and sanitation (Food Handling Permit)

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Operating in an efficient manner while maintaining stringent safety practices
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of English both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of supportive living environments is an asset

NON-TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently (self-managed) with efficiency and with other Associates in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Availability to work various shifts (evening and weekends)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for our Residents
  • Prepare the dining room, including cleaning and setting up/taking down chairs and tables as needed
  • Document reservations received via telephone
  • Present the menu, enter orders into the system, and communicate special requests to the culinary team
  • Assist the culinary team in preparing and serving simple items (e.g., beverages, toast, oatmeal) and portioning snacks and dessert items
  • Serve prepared orders to the Residents
  • Attend to the needs of our Residents in the dining room to ensure their comfort and satisfaction
  • Prepare and deliver food trays/carts to various floors as needed
  • Collect payment for the meal as required
  • Assist with dishwashing as needed
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned
