Responsible to and under the general supervision of the Bartender and Operations Manager, the Server is responsible for carrying out the procedures necessary to maintain a high standard of customer service and room cleanliness.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Alberta Grade 12 or equivalent.
- One year Experience preferred but not necessary.
- Must have passed ‘Proserve’ training within the first two weeks of employment.
- Personal cleanliness and dress in accordance with Students’ Union policy.
- Experience operating an Interac terminal and processing charge card transactions.
- Ability to deal with staff, students and the general public in a professional, friendly and diplomatic manner.

Responsibilities:
- Provides table service by taking and delivering food and beverage orders.
- Responsible for ensuring that customers consistently receive a high level of customer service offered with a positive attitude, in accordance with Students’ Union policies.
- Responsible for handling cash for the products sold and for the total cash-out value of items sold on each shift.
- Responsible for maintaining table, room and bar area cleanliness, including regular bussing and wiping of tables and ensuring floor surface cleanliness.
- Monitoring patron levels of intoxication and taking appropriate action when necessary in accordance with established Server intervention procedures and provincial liquor laws.
- To enforce the AGLC Liquor Control Act, the Alberta Health Services Act, U of A and Students’ Union regulations and policies.
- Perform other job-related duties as required by the Operations Manager.
