The post holder will be an intrinsic part of the Breast Service and will work closely with the following:
Breast service admin team.
Breast Clinical Nurse Specialists and Breast care Nurses
Service support Manager
Breast Consultants
Senior Management
GP’s and GP practice admin staff
To uphold the National Standards for 2ww breast referrals, managing the patient process including receipt of all GP referrals and to ensure all breast referrals are seen within 2 weeks.
To liaise with consultants, Management, admin and nursing staff regarding any impending 2ww breaches.
To be responsible for the Breast family history referrals, associated data base and all associated admin.
to liaise with senior team members and advise on current worko9ad and symptomatic activity.
To assist with training of new staff
To be responsible for and oversee the outcomes of all breast appointments on the PAS system.
Effectively deal with telephone calls and ensure there are good communication links throughout the department.
To liaise with the breast screening department to ensure patients referred to the symptomatic team are given an appropriate outpatient appointment.
To ensure all National Cancer targets are met.
To Co-ordinate annual ad study leave within the admin team, escalating any issues to the Service Support Manager.
Monitoring the breast clinics and supervising any overbooking.
Working with the Service Support Manager to cancel or suspend any clinics in the event of consultant leave.
