Job Summary
The Service Center Manager oversees the daily planning, implementation and maintenance of the manufacturing activities of the Service Center. Their duties include ensuring the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. The Service Center Manager selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function and leads with a focus on Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a health and safety environment at the Service Center (offices and shop floor) by working intensively with the team to implement EHS procedures and standards.
  • Responsible for the deployment of the continuous improvement culture at the organization
  • Oversee the management of the rebuild projects to meet internal and external customer specifications and internal Aftermarket requirements.
  • Responsible for Proposals related to the Service Center (including or not parts and rebuilds) making sure they are delivered on time to the customers as well as contains the required scope of supply.
  • Ensure that appropriate reporting, financial, operational controls and KPI’s are in place to protect business interests and to provide notice of the need for redirection.
  • Effectively communicates with staff on overall company policies, procedures, business issues and other relevant information.
  • Maintains effective communication with Aftermarket team regarding project deliverables and issues, customer requirements and specifications, and product development.
  • Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters. Act as contractual “middleman” between company associates and customers, ensuring timely review and approval / reconciliation of variations.
  • Manage inventory to meet anticipated ordering needs of customers; and also meet inventory level adjustment requirements as directed.Actively develop talent and employee relations with HR.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Management experience in a business, manufacturing, and/or assembly environment
  • Knowledge of manufacturing performance indicators such as productivity, utilization, and efficiency
  • Strong interpersonal skills – active listener, clear and concise communicator (both oral and written)
  • Basic understanding of financial principlesKnowledge of ERP/MRP systems

Key Competencies

  • Understanding of manufacturing operations including production principles (capacity planning and plant loading), inventory management, quality systems, and purchasing functions
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, welding, assembly and product testingAbility to organize and manage multiple projects (and people) simultaneously
