Description:

Love to see disabled people making progress towards independence?
Our Supported Independent Living service is looking for a Coordinator to join the team. The right candidate will be good at coaching support workers around helping people learn new skills and have a real passion around finding opportunities for people to live great lives.
Our Supported Independent Living service is focussed on giving people the tools and skills they need to become ever more independent and focusses on a range of life-skills and opportunities for personal growth such as high-level leisure and hobbies and social opportunities. People are generally living at home with their whanau, and our focus is on getting them set up to be able to make the leap to living by themselves or with flatmates. You will be responsible for managing the staff delivering these supports, developing new approaches to make the service ever more effective, and collaborating with the broader team, including a dedicated Community Facilitator who will assist with goal development, community integration and planning.
Whilst this service is primarily for intellectually disabled people, there is a big overlap with mental health services, so some experience in this area would be a huge benefit.

Key competencies:

  • Diploma or Bachelors-level qualification in a relevant area such as health, teaching, psychology, social work, or management.
  • A background working in the health, disability or social services sector and a sound theoretical knowledge of intellectual disability and/or mental health
  • Demonstrate training, leadership and resource management skills
  • Experience in managing teams and human services essential
  • Class 1 Full NZ Drivers Licence
  • Experience and qualifications in mental health

Spectrum Care offers competitive remuneration, as well as support for on-going training and education.
