Description:

Job Purpose: dnata is one of the world’s largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel, and flight catering services across five continents with edge cutting facilities, focus on innovations, efficiency and sustainability.
As Service Delivery Supervisor, you will be supervising day to day cargo operations by planning and monitoring activities in compliance with objectives and targets of dnata cargo Terminals at DWC, this includes, supervising staff to achieve an optimum level of service, maximizing space utilisation and on-time performance in line with the operational, safety and security standards.

In this role, you will be required:

  • Reviews loads plans and identifies special products requiring attention, based on the plan ensure maximum utilisation of space within specified time norms in line with the safety standards.
  • Plans and communicates requirements to build up teams for loading products for carriage assigned aircraft in line with the priorities and volume / payload available, optimum utilisation capacity.
  • Supervises and supports Cargo team to ensure that the productivity targets in different sections (Build up, Break down, documentation, courier, acceptance, delivery) are achieved.
  • Guides staff on duty for any problems anticipated or faced to ensure that the plan is achieved efficiently.
  • Ensures employees are effectively counselled and early disciplinary/ capability action taken/recommended when necessary.
  • Implements departmental policies, processes, procedures and provides instructions to the team on the day of operations
  • Monitors and manages operations on shift ensuring all activities, resources and equipment are effectively channelized to ensure smooth and safe operations.
  • Ensures safety briefings are conducted regularly while intervening when there is risk exposure, role model safe behaviours and follows up on corrective actions
  • Ensures safety of staff and that they have the knowledge, and confidence to work safely by providing support, direction, being a role model for the desired safety behaviours
  • Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment
  • Supervises acceptance, handling and delivery of import, export and transfer cargo and documents in line with the policies and procedures to ensure optimum operating efficiency, service and product quality standards
  • Ensures implementation of day-to-day operation assigned in compliance with the established standards and procedures.
  • Reviews discrepancy reports and ensures that corrective measures are implemented to reduce errors.
  • Complies with all regulatory and IATA standards such as Regulated Agent 3, ISO, IOSA /ISAGO GDP/CEIV standards and ensures staff follows the established procedures in the operations
  • Monitors inbound and outbound cargo, courier and special loads movement to ensure that the requirements of key stakeholders are met.
  • Conducts Adhoc audits as and when required to support Dept. Manager to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
  • Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a Diploma in Air Cargo or Ground Handling Experience
  • Experience of 4-6 years in ground handling
  • Good command on spoken and written English Language
  • Valid license for operating equipment (ADP) preferred
