Description:
THE OPPORTUNITY
Davis Pier is seeking a full-time Service Designer to join our consulting firm in Halifax, NS. The successful candidate will manage and deliver exceptional client services necessary to design, plan, and implement lasting change and improvement in complex public sector environments.

The Service Design Associate will:
Work with public sector clients to design policies, programs, services, and experiences.
- Employ innovative methods and approaches to uncover rich citizen insights
- Use insights to develop strategic approaches to public sector transformation
- Design, manage and execute projects using a variety of qualitative research methodologies
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary project teams in the role of Service Designer, Researcher, Consultant, or Facilitator;
- Manage client relationships within project environments;
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills
- Help foster client relationships within project environments
- Assist in developing high quality project deliverables
- Seamlessly integrate with client teams
- Assist in developing tailored approaches to project delivery to ensure engagement outcomes are delivered in an non-disruptive manner
- Help with the creation of, or change to, business process, digital products and content across both digital and offline channels
- Assist in helping clients design and implement technology changes as part of an overall business transformation
- Champion and reinforce the value of citizen led approaches and design thinking; and
- Support the growth of our design practice internally and externally.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Experience and passion for solving complex problems in the public and social sectors
- Formal education in design, business, public administration, engineering, or IT
- Research background with an understanding and appreciation for qualitative insights
- Demonstrable passion and expertise in design thinking methodologies
- Previous experience in project settings, in a professional services environment
- Possess the ability to remain flexible concerning approaches to delivering client solutions
- Previous consulting experience would be considered an asset
- Experience with digital (Examples: strategy, UX design, usability testing) - would be considered an asset
