Description:

Role: Service Desk and SOC Analyst (excellent growth opportunities)
Location: Based from our Belfast office. Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week.
Salary: £27,000 to £35,000 depending on skills & experience

WE’RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH

  • Minimum one to two years previous experience working in a 1st/2nd line support role is preferable
  • Knowledge of computer networks, operating systems, software, hardware and cyber security technologies such as network and application firewalls, host intrusion prevention and anti-virus
  • Experience of SIEM technologies such as QRadar, Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel
  • Knowledge of cyber security threats
  • The ability to interpret technical data to non-technical staff
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • The ability to work well individually with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are looking for a Tier 1 SOC Analyst to join our Security Operations Centre Team in Belfast. As a SOC Analyst, you will be assessing security systems, identifying, and patching vulnerabilities and improving overall cyber resilience across the company.
Applicants will need to possess a real passion for cyber security and hold a degree in an IT related field or equivalent.

AN IDEA OF WHAT THE ROLE INVOLVES

  • Logging incidents/faults and prioritising tasks
  • Reporting incidents and dealing with incident response in line with SLA’s
  • Providing a high level of customer service to customers via telephone, email, and customer portal.
  • Gathering information from customers regarding their incidents and recording accurately on the Service Management tool.
  • Prioritising incidents and requests ensuring they are resolved within Service Level commitments and escalating them to 2nd/3rd line when appropriate.
  • Resolving incidents and requests in a logical and thorough approach.
  • Completing backup and system checks.
  • Using SIEM and UBA tools to track and analyse any potential cyber threats
  • Performing security and risk analysis to pinpoint vulnerabilities
  • Presenting improvement strategies to clients to improve company security
  • Updating security systems regularly to avoid any potential cyberattacks
  • Performing security audits
  • Demonstrable documentation skills (reports, policies, procedures, workflows) as required
  • Occasional travel to client sites when needed
