Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The SD CS role contributes significantly to the processing and management of all Administrative and Disciplinary casework for circa 2000 personnel parented by RAF Coningsby and provides extensive continuity for the Flt as service personnel turn over. The SD CS role is responsible for ensuring the progression of all basic administration functions carried out by the Flt and owning a proportion of the caseload. The SD CS role is responsible for coordinating ID cards, Rail Cards, MOD Medals AHR, FHTB and secondary employment applications along with DBS and SAR applications, ensuring they are processed expeditiously as possible to reduce the delay to service personnel on unit.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide assistance and support to OC Service Discipline (SD) and SNCO SD for tri service discipline related matters including disciplinary cases, administrative cases, service complaints, civilian court appearances and Court Martials, maintaining JPA discipline records for RAF Coningsby.
Process disciplinary paperwork as required including Summary Hearing Pack-ups.
Process and coordinate relevant administrative action for tri-service fitness test failures, assisting the gym with exit date and location from JPA and updating the fitness registers accordingly.
Process discipline checks as and when requested for Service personnel.
Process applications for part-time employment, send out approval letters and update the register.
Process Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) checks, verify personnel, deal with any DBS enquiries, maintain JPA records with Certificate information, update the register for signature on a monthly basis.
Process LS&GC Medal applications for contentious cases, split service and personnel leaving the Service. Process any other medals applications that require manual application. Maintain JPA records accordingly.
IM POC for SD Section, ensuring the section complies with the IM Policy.
Control the SD registry file administration for all files held within the section iaw JSP441/831. Maintain the monthly destruction checks for closed files.
Provide cover for SNCO SD.
Manage the disciplinary email multi user as required, actioning promotion offers, medal queries and miscellaneous queries.

Where business needs allow, some roles may be suitable for a combination of office and home-based working. This is a non-contractual arrangement where all office-based employees will be expected to spend a minimum of 60% of their working time in office, subject to capacity and any required workplace adjustments. Requirements to attend other locations for official business, or work in another MOD office, will also count towards this level of attendance. The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.
