Description:
WHO ARE WE?
Newmedica are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives through better sight and eye health.
We care for thousands of NHS and private patients a year in our specialist eye clinics across the country. We have significant growth plans over the next few years as we look to establish a national footprint and open many new sites across the UK.
We are thrilled to say that following an independently conducted survey of Newmedica colleagues, we have been certified as a Great Place to Work®. This is a global benchmark that recognises employers who create an outstanding employee experience.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE DO I NEED?
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal & customer service skills as you will play a crucial role in the decision-making process for our private patients. You will need to build a strong rapport with patients, based on trust, empathy and helpfulness so you definitely need a dazzling personality or “pizazz” to succeed in this role!
You must have strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail – there are lots of steps a Coordinator must go through for our patients: payments, consent forms, pre-op assessments, surgeon notes and more.
Tenacity, creative problem-solving and a relentless “can-do” attitude is a must as our team bend over backwards to help our patients and deliver an outstanding experience to our referrers! This is why we get so many 5-star reviews – we truly go the extra mile.
You will need to have a willingness to work flexibly – you will split your time between the clinic and being out on ‘safari’ visiting and engaging with our referrers (Optometrists across LLR)
Experience managing and maintaining relationships with existing clients and quickly building positive, robust relationships with new clients is crucial.
And you’ll be tech savvy – comfortable with working on a variety of IT systems and able to pick up new systems and programmes confidently and with ease. Being comfortable producing presentations and analysing data is also important.
WHAT WE’RE OFFERING
- A salary of up to £26,000 per annum depending upon experience
- Mileage for business-related travel across LLR
- 25 days annual leave plus one day birthday leave plus bank holidays
- A company pension scheme
- Access to a range of benefits including free eye tests, discounted or free glasses, a free 24/7 wellbeing/counselling/advice service, death in service cover, and the blue light discount scheme
- Free access to Headspace
- An environment where your learning and development is supported through a range of various learning tools and courses.
- Working with a friendly multi-disciplinary team passionate about improving the lives of our patients
- A bright, spacious and modern working environment, built to the highest standards
You must have your own transport and a valid and clean driving licence. You will be required to travel across LLR as part of your role.

Responsibilities:
This is a new role within the business, created to support the development and growth of new patient referrals into the service, provide exceptional customer service to our private patients and coordinate all educational and marketing initiatives.
The role will work across the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) designated geographical areas to deliver the required referral numbers to achieve the expected sales targets and growth strategy for the Newmedica Leicester clinic.
Linking in with the central Service Engagement Manager and wider Marketing & Engagement function, the Service Engagement Coordinator will play a key role in supporting local business development. They will be the main conduit between the service and the local referring community, helping the Partners to develop referrer engagement plans and build local relationships with referrers such as Opticians, GPs, the ICB Referral Management Centre, LOCs etc.
Additional duties will include the management of marketing activities, coordinating and supporting educational and social events for both colleagues and external stakeholders, maintaining brand literature and ensuring an active and positive presence on the service’s social media accounts.
The Service Engagement Coordinator will ensure that our Private Clinics are promoted and communicated to the local referring community and support local marketing activity to drive private sales. They will develop a local marketing plan to promote our private treatment options, working alongside the central marketing team and OJV Senior Management Team. They will ensure our private patients are managed appropriately with all relevant administration completed, and that private patients have a fantastic experience with us from the first point of contact, through to the end of their treatment pathway.
