QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

  • Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • Knowledge of jet engine systems and components, fuel system and/or turbomachinery
  • Experience in product/aircraft/engine troubleshooting, maintenance and repair
  • Experience in communication within multilevel hierarchy of a large organization. Ability to communicate effectively between peers, management and executives

Collins Aerospace, Power & Controls and its Engine Control Systems (ECS) Service Engineering department are seeking a new team member. ECS Service Engineer is a technical support role in aftermarket for in-service jet engine electronic and mechanical controls used on variety of airplanes across the globe. Service Engineer uses product knowledge and experience to support customer technical inquiries for troubleshooting, analysis, and product improvement. The position requires a highly motivated individual who can identify issues, and help drive the development, planning, and implementation of effective corrective actions for field issues involving actuation, fuel controls and turbo machinery mechanical ECS products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Gather field data (reliability, field/operational issues) and present findings to internal/external customers
  • Drive and coordinate hardware investigations
  • Engage with Project Engineering, Aftermarket Program Management, suppliers, maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) organizations, engine/airframe manufacturers and aircraft operators to address product/system related technical issues
  • Work with Technical publications for initiation, planning, and coordination of Service Bulletins (SB), Service Information Letters (SIL), and Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM)
  • Work with the Collins Customer Response Center (CRC) to address in-service technical and aircraft-on-ground (AOG) issues in an appropriately responsive manner for assigned systems and products
  • Assist with root cause analysis, corrective action plans, and implementation to address chronic or significant field/operational issue with Collins parts/systems
  • Act as the “voice of the customer” for promoting positive change to our products and processes
  • Develop familiarization training for our products
  • 10% travel both domestic and international
