We are looking for a Service Fitter - Leading Hand based in South Melbourne, Victoria.
About you
This is a permanent role and reports to the Repairs Supervisor. In this role, you will perform all mechanical field Operations for the Melbourne area.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensures that all units within the Victoria portfolio are regularly maintained and repaired in accordance with contractual obligations and the Company’s mechanical repair policies.
- Carries out repairs and replaces parts as directed by their supervisor
- Undertakes an active role in selling mechanical repairs and services of Otis Elevator Company Pty Limited in an assisting role with the Service Sales departments in Melbourne.
- Assists with annual survey and safety tests in conjunction with the Repairs Supervisor and in accordance with Company policies as required. Recommends all repair and other work necessary to improve equipment.
- Develops relationships with other contractors in the area to assist in meeting Business goals.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and help facilitate continuous improvement to satisfy the customers of your processes.
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and materials properly and safeguard such property.
- Perform work in accordance with the relevant lift industry codes and standards and maintain and work to the Quality System.
- Comply with the company’s Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures, including reporting any conditions that may impact the environment or any employee.
What you will need to be successful
- Have Fitting trade qualification or equivalent Elevator/Lift work experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience within the Lift Industry.
- Demonstrated fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Enjoys communicating with various levels of stakeholders and working closely with others in the field.
- Solutions-oriented, independent, and well-organized.
- Willing to travel in & out of the region and able to work unsupervised.
- Has the ability to perform knowledge transfer on information and skills through training.
- Able to plan and prioritize tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills and the ability to deal with and influence customers and colleagues.
