Are you passionate about mechanical work and eager to see your skills make a significant impact? We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter/Technician to join our expanding team!
Your role will involve ensuring the smooth operation by conducting routine maintenance, inspections, component replacements, and pneumatic system testing. Your expertise will be pivotal in maximising the efficiency and reliability of our entire fleet.

As a Mechanical Fitter/Technician joining the Maintenance Team in Wulkuraka, you will:

  • Perform routine examinations.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostic testing on heavy rail equipment for the QNGR Project
  • Actively maintain and repair installed rail equipment.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Provide daily and weekly reports on activities, identified issues, and maintenance measures.
  • Operate and maintain workshop equipment.
  • Follow instructions to complete tasks effectively, demonstrating both teamwork and independence.
  • Undertake general workshop duties.

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Relevant trade qualifications recognised in Australia, such as Cert 3 in Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechanical expertise with a focus on pneumatic schematics and related systems
  • Ability to work shifts as required.
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Additional experience in Rolling Stock, Aviation, or Mining is advantageous.

These roles are based at the purpose-built Wulkuraka Maintenance Facility with opportunities for advancement within a global leader. The pay and conditions are in accordance with the current Enterprise Agreement.
Initially, the role involves day shifts starting at 5:30 am from Monday to Friday, followed by a 2-3 week period of night shifts. Subsequently, a dynamic 24/7 roster will be implemented to promote work-life balance.
