Description:

Barque Smokehouse on Roncesvalles is looking to hire a manager to support service and the front of house team. This person will work closely with the general manager, chef, and owner to run service 5 days per week, as well as contribute to policy and standards, food and drink menu engineering, scheduling strategies, and more.
Barque Smokehouse is a full wage (tip-free) restaurant.
The ideal candidate is an individual who truly loves and exemplifies inspired hospitality. They must possess a strong passion for, and knowledge of food and beverage. They will also have strong organizational, leadership, and guest service skills to actively support service and operations on a daily basis.
Starting hourly pay range: $30-$35/hr, depending on experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 6 years experience in the restaurant industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a server
  • Minimum 2 years as a shift-leader, key-holder, supervisor, manager, or other responsible role
  • Smart Serve certification
  • Post-secondary education in hospitality is an asset
  • Food handler certificate is an asset
    For years, we have been actively working to correct industry inequities like Front of House/Back of House wage disparity, lack of health benefits for employees, and the tip-based model. As of 2022 we employ a new pricing model - one that provides all staff with allowances for extended health benefits, and an hourly wage of no less than $22.25 hourly (more in the vast majority of instances). While we don’t refuse gratuities, guests are reminded that we have incorporated the costs of a stable wage into our pricing.
