Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

If you’ve been seeking an exciting new challenge, this role could be perfect for you! Village Cinemas Werribee is reopening later this year, and we are searching for a Service Operations Manager (SOM) to join the team.
This role manages all aspects of cinema operations to ensure the site is fully compliant with company requirements and to assist the General Manager achieve Key Performance Indicators. The Service Operations Manager will work closely to support the General Manager in identifying innovative initiatives and programs aimed to improve operational excellence and an exceptional guest experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and develop employee capability, and support recruitment, induction and training of site employees utilising Learning & Development training materials ensuring progress in line with role requirements
  • Ensuring all team members are trained in the Village Cinemas Australia Service Flow model
  • Develop and engage a large, diversified team to achieve business objectives through open and timely communication
  • Ensure people management concerns are appropriately escalated and communicated to the correct departments. Support in facilitating disciplinary meetings in line with performance management practices.
  • Review onsite customer feedback to understand key trends, including identifying training opportunities
  • In conjunction with the General Manager ensuring the financial success of the site
  • Actively communicating and collaborating with head office departments, ensuring key information is appropriately communicated to wider site team in timely manner
  • Support General Manager to ensure completion of weekly and fortnightly payroll through the workforce management system in line with budget.
  • Effectively managing all site costs and operating expenses
  • Administering employee training, development and performance through coaching, feedback, performance review process
  • Manage inventory wastage, transfer, manual COGS recording, good receipting and any other processes defined by the Inventory team
  • Other duties as specified by your general manager

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Experience within a hospitality industry at a management level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate
  • RSA Certificate
  • Flexibility in relation to working a rotational roster
  • Outstanding customer services skills with the ability to solve complex problems
  • Ability to work autonomously, while also displaying strong collaborative and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet required deadlines
