Overview:
The Service Owner Business Applications will be responsible for ensuring group wide applications enable business requirements. This role will act as the trusted solution advisor to the business functions on their business application requirements.
This role will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of application solutions with high quality deliverables that are aligned with the business vision and goals by managing service integrator teams using different delivery methodologies. The successful candidate will need to bring a balanced skillset (technical, consulting, financial, project management & change management) with in-depth knowledge and experience delivering technology-led implementations within large, complex enterprises. This role must understand the interplay between the technical solution design, commercial feasibility, delivery partnering, and operating model.

- Strong Business and commercial acumen
- Good commercial and business awareness
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and problems and follow through to completion
- Ability to build strong relationships with business stakeholders, including senior managers and 3rd party vendor executives and to influence and be persuasive
- International orientation – prepared to travel internationally and is able to work effectively in an international context
- B. Com / BSc Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience.
- 6-10 years’ experience in application development and support (SDLC).
- 6-10 years’ experience in IT Project Management / PRINCE 2 / PMBOK.
- 6-10 years’ experience supporting and managing global services at large complex global organisations.
- 6-10 years’ experience leading application service management teams, internal and 3rd parties.
- 6-10 years’ experience working in a multi-vendor IS sourcing environment.
- 6-10 years’ experience of managing relationships with internal business customers.
- ITIL Certified.
- TOGAF certification (preferred).
- Experience in document writing (Policies, Standards, Work Instructions & Operating procedures etc.).
- Application and technical architecture capability - ability to research and make technical recommendations on the business function

Responsibilities:
- Work with internal teams (which can be across different geographic locations), service integrator (SI) technical teams and partners to plan, build and run application solutions.
- Engage in commercial processes (e.g., scope definition, application definition, SI selection) and own contracts with SI’s for change initiatives and post implementation support.
- Reviews user requirements, functional and technical designs, and makes recommendations to the business process owner/s and solution service providers through an informed evaluation process.
- Accountable for business solutions throughout is software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of solution architecture’s that enable business function requirements. This role will be an active participant and contributor towards Enterprise Architecture capability.
- Manage risk and issues pertaining to the application design, build, deployment, and support.
- Work with the business and SI’s to design and maintain application master data.
- Ensures that the team members are equipped with the requisite skill set for both current and future services by developing a training and career development plan for each team member. Facilitates mentoring and coaching.
- Collaboratively works with team members to set performance goals and measures that will enable the strategic and tactical objectives for the Enterprise Systems function.
- Partner with cross functional teams to ensure there is alignment on policy, processes and standards across the value chain of Enterprise Systems.
- Document and maintain all policies, standards, operating procedures, service design documents and work instructions relating to the application and its hosting infrastructure.
- Manage the budget associated to the business applications.
- Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to direct reports.
