Description:

Job Summary:
The Service Porter at Jaguar Land Rover Columbia plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dealership’s service department. This is a full-time, hourly position in the auto industry based in Columbia, South Carolina. As an individual contributor, the Service Porter will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the service department, assisting with customer service tasks, and supporting the overall efficiency of the department.
Compensation & Benefits:
This position offers competitive compensation, with an hourly rate of $15 to $17 paid semimonthly. In addition, employees will have access to benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, and opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the service department, including service bays, waiting area, and work stations
  • Assisting with customer service tasks, such as greeting and directing customers to the appropriate service advisor or technician
  • Moving vehicles to and from service areas and ensuring they are parked in designated areas
  • Retrieve and deliver vehicles to customers upon completion of service
  • Assist service advisors or technicians with retrieving parts or tools as needed
  • Monitor and replenish supplies in the service department, such as towels, cleaning products, and refreshments for customers
  • Follow all safety regulations and maintain a safe and clean working environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a service or automotive setting is preferred but not required
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50lbs
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
