Description:
SERVICE TECHNICIAN
We are hiring a Service Technician who will be responsible for customer support, overseeing installations and repairs, and growing sales within the Services Business Unit.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong refrigeration, mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to work in both office and plant floor environments.
- Ability to work independently.
- Work well under pressure.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Customer service mindset is a must.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Refrigeration qualification preferable
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant field
- Working knowledge of refrigeration products is required.
- Experience using electrical meters and troubleshooting.
- Previous field service experience preferred.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and unrestricted ability to travel by air or ground to customer locations
Responsibilities:
- Complete required service reports and communicate to relevant persons.
- Communicate/coordinate field service activities with customer and/or local Rubicon associated sales personnel.
- Installation, service and repair of refrigeration air conditioning, and all associated tasks thereof.
- Overall understanding of Rittal/Panel Mount Industrial Panel Coolers
- Good working knowledge of intercoolers and heat exchangers
- Provide telephonic technical support to customers.
- Promote Service Contracts through customer interactions and communication.
- Understand customer requirements and provide most cost-effective solution from Rubicon.
- Follow-up on Sales leads
- Grow the customer base for Services.
- Identify sales opportunities within customers plants.
- Grow sales and revenue for Services Department (SLAs, once-off services, parts and accessories.
- Process in-house evaluations and repairs of units returned by customers.
- Coordinate and work well with Service Partners
- Other duties as may be requested from time to time
