Description:

SERVICE TECHNICIAN

We are hiring a Service Technician who will be responsible for customer support, overseeing installations and repairs, and growing sales within the Services Business Unit.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Strong refrigeration, mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to work in both office and plant floor environments.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Work well under pressure.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Refrigeration qualification preferable
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in relevant field
  • Working knowledge of refrigeration products is required.
  • Experience using electrical meters and troubleshooting.
  • Previous field service experience preferred.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and unrestricted ability to travel by air or ground to customer locations

Responsibilities:

  • Complete required service reports and communicate to relevant persons.
  • Communicate/coordinate field service activities with customer and/or local Rubicon associated sales personnel.
  • Installation, service and repair of refrigeration air conditioning, and all associated tasks thereof.
  • Overall understanding of Rittal/Panel Mount Industrial Panel Coolers
  • Good working knowledge of intercoolers and heat exchangers
  • Provide telephonic technical support to customers.
  • Promote Service Contracts through customer interactions and communication.
  • Understand customer requirements and provide most cost-effective solution from Rubicon.
  • Follow-up on Sales leads
  • Grow the customer base for Services.
  • Identify sales opportunities within customers plants.
  • Grow sales and revenue for Services Department (SLAs, once-off services, parts and accessories.
  • Process in-house evaluations and repairs of units returned by customers.
  • Coordinate and work well with Service Partners
  • Other duties as may be requested from time to time
