Description:
Job Summary: The Service Truck/Operational Support, reporting to the Operations Manager, will be responsible for executing a range of operational and safety-related tasks. This role includes managing service calls, overseeing safety initiatives, providing technical support during high call volumes or truck shortages, conducting training, and ensuring effective site inspections. The Specialist will act as a liaison between operations and dispatch, maintaining a safe work environment and representing the company with professionalism.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in service truck operations or towing.
Proven ability as an engaging trainer.
Strong technical writing skills for preparing reports and documentation.
Proficiency in operating and interpreting the mechanical functions of power mobile equipment.
Knowledge of vehicle and equipment care and maintenance.
Experience with understanding and interpreting contract language.
Valid Class 5Q Driver’s License with a clean driving record (provide driver’s abstract).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to maintain accurate records and generate reports.
Skilled in handling conflicts and challenging discussions with clients, team members, or subcontractors. Exceptional customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
Legally authorized to work in Canada without sponsorship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficiency in MS Suite and Dispatch related software.
First Aid Certification
Familiar with provincial OH&S standards and WCB regulations.

Responsibilities:
Service Calls: Respond promptly to service calls for boosts, unlocks, tire changes and towing in high demand season.
EWU and Pilot Services: Provide Eary Warning Unit (EWU) and pilot services as needed.
Damage Claims: Manage and process damage claims effectively.
Site Checks: Conduct site inspections to ensure operational and safety standards.
Technical Support: Assist operators who need extra support for technical loads or unloads, including providing spotter services.
Duty Manager Rotation: Participate in the Duty Manager rotation to ensure continuous operational coverage.
Dispatch Coordination: Collaborate with Dispatch to address operator issues and make critical decisions during high-pressure situations.
Equipment Maintenance: Replace worn or defective towing gear as needed.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understand and apply CWT rate structures, contracts, invoices and DOT regulations.
Training and Coaching: Train and coach junior drivers on safety protocols, operational procedures, and equipment use. Evaluate training effectiveness and update materials as necessary.
Meetings: Attend Operations Meetings and Quarterly Joint Health and Safety Meetings as required.
