The Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts, invites applications for Sessional Instructors for the courses for the Fall 2024 semester. These courses include the following (but more may become available):

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At minimum, a BA in Economics or related field, and a Masters in Economics or related field, PhD preferred. Depending on the course, relevant experience may compensate if the candidate has a BA in another field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written;
  • Demonstrated empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students;
  • Experience using a learning management system, such as Moodle, and familiarity with educational technologies, would be beneficial, with an aptitude to learn other software as required.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Chair, Social Science Department, the Sessional Instructor’s responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and delivery of weekly instructional lectures, assignments, and examinations relevant to the course taught;
  • Grading assignments and exams;
  • Providing constructive feedback to students;
  • Maintaining regular office hours;Working collegially as a team member.
