Description:

Sessional Worker for Resolve and Assist- Greater Manchester Service for children impacted by domestic abuse
Fixed term contract until 31st March 2025 (with potential extension of funding)
Flexible hours - Sessional as and when needed
Salary: £15.52 per hour
Location: Working across Greater Manchester, Wythenshawe Office
The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.
This role sits within our children and families directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. Your role will be to support children aged 5-18 years old that have been impacted by domestic abuse.

We are currently looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic, ambitious team.
A key part of this role will be your ability to work creatively with different children, delivering tailored support in a trauma informed way in different school settings and in the community. .

KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the diverse range of needs of children and young people who have been exposed to domestic abuse and/or sexual abuse
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the therapeutic process and trauma-based approach
  • Effective methods of working and communicating with parents/carers and young people affected by domestic and sexual abuse
  • Excellent understanding of the emotional health and wellbeing

Responsibilities:
