THE OPPORTUNITYÂ

Our South Bow Controller team is looking to add an #EnergyProblemSolver in Calgary to support Internal and External Reporting for South Bow.
Reporting to the Manager, Internal and External Reporting we are seeking an experienced accounting professional for the Settlements Analyst for South Bow.Â
Consolidations is responsible for gathering and analyzing financial data from multiple business units and preparing accurate consolidated financial statements. This role supports the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

•   Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
•   2+ years of experience in a settlement analyst or similar role within the oil and gas industry, preferably in a midstream context.
•   Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
•   Proficiency in Excel and experience with data management software; familiarity with ERP systems is a plus.
•   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
•   Knowledge of oil and gas market dynamics and regulatory requirements is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

•   Key Responsibilities
o   Review and analyze crude oil transactions to ensure all trades are accurately recorded and settled in accordance with contracts.
o   Generate and issue accurate invoices for crude oil transactions based on contractual terms, pricing agreements, and delivery details
o   Work closely with traders, finance, and operations teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination regarding settlement processes.
o   Process and analyze settlement data for Canadian and US oil and gas transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
o   Collaborate with marketing and trading teams to reconcile discrepancies and resolve issues related to settlements.
o   Maintain and update settlement databases and documentation for timely and accurate record-keeping.
o   Prepare, review, and submit all necessary customs documentation for import and export activities, including invoices and shipping documents.
o   Assist in internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations regarding crude oil transactions and financial records.
o   Generate reports and present findings on settlement trends and performance metrics to management.
o   Participate in cross-functional projects and special initiatives as needed.
