Description:

The Setup and Service Technician is responsible for the setup, return, repair, delivery and installation of healthcare equipment. This position will be mostly in-shop but will also require the occasional delivery, install and/or repair of equipment in client’s homes and healthcare facilities. The Setup and Service Technician is also responsible for ensuring the seating and parts inventory is stocked and organized. This position will require competent computer skills to be able to loan out, transfer and return equipment in our system.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software skills.
  • Technically proficient with a keen interest in repairing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job, which include bending, lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces
  • Experience with tools is essential.
  • Healthcare experience is essential.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Customer service experience is essential.

Responsibilities:

Equipment Setup:

  • Setup and inspect equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, hospital beds, lifts) ensuring cleanliness, safety, and quality.
  • Setup equipment trials and demonstrations in collaboration with sales and seating consultants.
  • Label and organize equipment, including parts and chargers, as per specifications.
  • Ensure all documentation, including manuals and care sheets, is provided to clients.

Equipment Return & Repair:

  • Inspect and clean returned equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faulty equipment, ensuring timely service.
  • Replace defective parts and calibrate systems according to manufacturer specifications.

Inventory Control:

  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring parts and equipment are properly stocked.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to order necessary parts for repairs.
  • Keep the workspace and inventory areas clean and organized.

Computer & Documentation:

  • Fill out detailed work orders, documenting all setups, repairs, and returns.
  • Log equipment details and service records in company systems, ensuring up-to-date tracking.
  • Loan out, return and transfer equipment in the company system as needed.

Equipment Delivery & Installation:

  • Deliver and install equipment at client homes or facilities.
  • Educate clients on equipment usage and maintenance.
  • Provide excellent customer service during delivery and install, ensuring client satisfaction.

General Duties:

  • Lift and move heavy equipment up to 100lbs.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Train new colleagues on procedures, equipment setup, and inventory control.
