ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
AMSANT is the peak body for Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services in the Northern Territory and advocates for equity in health, focusing on supporting the provision of high quality comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal communities.
AMSANT Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) programs are incorporated into the work of the SEWB team and includes support for services focused on culturally responsive trauma informed practice, suicide prevention and post-vention, workforce development, research and policy.
Responsibilities:
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
The Workforce Development Coordinator position coordinates initiatives, activities and training that supports building the capacity and responsiveness of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social and Emotional Wellbeing (SEWB) and Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) workforce in the Northern Territory.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with ACCHS, NGOs and Resi-rehabilitation services to identify and coordinate professional learning, training and development opportunities based on identified workforce needs.
- Work with the SEWB Manager and staff to identify and share best practice models of service delivery in SEWB programs across the SEWB and AOD workforce.
- Work with the SEWB Manager and staff to coordinate the team’s training schedule, resource and facilitator allocation, participant registration processes and post workshop data collection and analysis.
- Coordinate the planning and delivery of the annual SEWB workforce forum and other peer support and learning and professional development networking events and activities.
- Develop and maintain spreadsheets and/or a database to collect data on the training needs analysis of the SEWB workforce to identify emerging trends.
- Collaborate with key training organisations to establish and maintain relationships and formal partnerships for monitoring and improving the quality and content of culturally safe learning and professional development programs.
- Contribute to evaluation and monitoring frameworks to measure the overall impacts of the SEWB Workforce activities are achieved.
- Provide support and mentoring to build capacity and knowledge of SEWB facilitators and project officers to deliver training workshops.
- Collaborate with staff to continuously develop and improve training content and delivery in line with training needs analysis and evaluation outcomes.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to SEWB team members including performance management, workplan development and onboarding of staff.
- Prepare and review high-level submissions, reports and documents that advance or advocate for SEWB-related objectives, including statistical data analysis.
- Provide oversight and leadership in the implementation and monitoring of SEWB programs and services within parameters of grant funding, performance indictors and internal policies.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to SEWB team members including performance management, workplan development and onboarding of staff.
- Prepare and review high-level submissions, reports and documents that advance or advocate for SEWB-related objectives, including statistical data analysis.
