37 Hours per week, Fixed term contract until 31st December 2025.
Shared Lives is a regulated service designed to offer care and assistance to older people, individuals grappling with mental health challenges and adults facing physical or cognitive disabilities. The scheme’s goal is to integrate those utilizing the service into the families of Shared Lives Carers, either through full-time placements or overnight respite stays within the caregiver’s home, as well as through short breaks or day support.

Responsibilities:

We seek a vibrant and passionate individual to complement our experienced staff team. We aim for someone who will energetically contribute to the advancement and expansion of our scheme while also managing a caseload of carers and service users.
The Shared Lives Scheme is fluid in nature and the demands made upon the scheme vary on a day to day basis. The Shared Lives Officer will need to adjust to this fluidity and undertake prioritisation of tasks as they arise.

The post holder will demonstrate:

  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written/verbally & proficient in IT packages
  • Ability to be self-motivating
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work from a proactive stance
  • Understanding of current legislative and policy frameworks
  • Understanding of CQC regulations
  • Experience of Shared Lives, but not essential

You will also demonstrate a commitment to anti oppressive practice along with a flexible attitude to travelling within the local area as well as out of county.
