About The Role
An outstanding opportunity for an experienced Shared Services Manager to join our team based at our Brisbane Office.
In this hands on role you will be responsible for overseeing the Whitehaven Coal Shared Services team and provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Mine Accountants and Payroll teams.
The Finance Shared Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient delivery of financial services and processes within the Finance Shared Services team. This position manages day-to-day operations, drives process improvements, ensures compliance with financial policies, and supports the overall financial strategy of the organization. The role requires strong leadership, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and a commitment to continuous improvement in finance operations.
What You’ll Do
- Managing internal and external audit processes and joint venture accounting and reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory timelines.
- Ensuring compliance with payment runs and payroll schedules.
- Ensuring timely month end close and report production, including finalisation of month end accounts and preparation of variance analysis against budget and/or forecast.
- Developing reporting to stakeholders including all accounting and financial reporting, including monthly site reporting and ad-hoc reporting as required.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans and business initiatives.
- Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed in a timely manner and issues are proactively resolved and reported as required.
- Develop expertise in SAP (ERP) and TM1 (BI software)
- Lead shared service team toward the delivery of best practice financial controls and to operate in accordance with group policies and procedures
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor of Commerce / Accounting / Business or related field.
- CPA or CA membership
- 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership role within finance shared services or operations
- Systems experience (TM1 Planning Analytics, strong SAP knowledge desirable).
- Strong experience in managing finance functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger
- Experience working with SAP ERP systems and financial reporting tools
